Hi, I'm Marni

Hi, I’m Marni, a wife, a mother, a business owner and a Fitness Coach.

 

I love living an active, balanced life alongside my family, enjoying our days at the beach or on the waters of Tropical North Queensland the most.

Having had a love of anything active or adventurous for as long as I can remember, working in the fitness industry has always seemed inevitable to me. After years of working as a Scuba Diving Instructor (the main reason I left Adelaide to live in Port Douglas so many years ago) my passion for fitness and health grew and I became a Personal Trainer back in 2013.

Long distance endurance events became my personal jam, finding out what this body and mind of mine could do and along the way learning a lot about the importance of life balance! These days I love to move my body in many different ways but by far my favourite is definitely High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), throw some weights in there too and I'm a happy girl!!

 

In 2018 I became a mother. Pregnancy was kind to me and I was able to train my body throughout. Lifting weights with only a few modifications as I felt strong and capable. After the birth of my daughter, I returned to exercise from 6 weeks, with the belief that I will just pick up where I left off, or thereabouts but as you could imagine things had changed and my body was quick to let me know.

 

I felt silly and embarrassed that as a personal trainer, a mum and a woman, I didn't know more about the post-natal body (or the female body in general) and how to care for it and help it recover after pregnancy and birth.

 

Since then, I have been studying many aspects of women’s fitness and health. Gaining understanding in the different seasons of life women go through and how movement and exercise can best enhance these unique seasons.

 

I wanted to bring it all together and create an inviting, inclusive and inspiring space where individuals of all ages and abilities could meet, move and embrace themselves for the beautiful creatures they are.

And this is how MOVE EMBRACE was born.
